I'm a couple days late on sketchin' Monica's theme of Aftermath... but here's my quickie, better late than never! Welcome to sketchnight Monica, and glad to have you at EA!
So many great movies to choose from! I ended up going with this. I can't call it done with this speed painting. This is another one that I want to eventually come back to and finish.
I've been flipping through comic books lately, I think it influenced me on this one. She's a galaxy police-woman (from the future) where they don't need much "protection." Let's face it folks, sci-fi lasers can go right through that stuff! That armor never seems to work for those poor storm troopers! So might as well look good when hunting down bad guys.
Tried again to get this one done in "speed painting" time. After 2 hours I forced myself to stop, but realized it just wasn't enough time to get the style I was going for. The pug faces have the 'style' I would like to take this image. It's called "sketch" night right? So it's a sketch =)
It's been a long time since I've posted. I have material backed up but no time to post as of late. Recently, I've been painting on my DS at the EA life drawing workshops. Here's a few images from those sessions.
I was going to take this further to a finish, but following Ken and Jose's suggestion, I'll leave this as a gestural abstraction. Also, times are pretty busy...
Sketchnight Rule #2: You pick the week's theme and don't do it? Next week you ARE the theme. Here's Kevin with his daily struggle to pick the right brown, ribbed, zip up sweater for the occasion.
Yes folks, he wears the same thing every day... nuthin but love Kev... nuthin but love.
